Fantastic books 9th to 12th grade

so why are these books for older readers? mostly because of the subject material. I’ve put the main reason for the book being on this list next to some of the more inappropriate books.

  1. Hi LittleRead! You have some wonderful books here. Do you know Speak by Laurie Halse Anderson? I’ve taught women’s lit to first-year students for many years and this is one of their favorite young adult books. Like Perks, it has adult content but also “speaks” to women’s empowerment. Thanks for the lists!
